Understanding Chipsets , CPU and GPU of a smartphone

So this is my post #2 tagged in Technology . I have basically collected this information from around 10-12 websites , simplified it and then posted it.
Guys this post basically revolves around an android smartphone hardware. The major primary part is a CHIPSET OR ( Soc = system on chip )
A Chipset is basically a physically integrated silicon circuit on a computer or smartphone , it is the god the smartphone which controls all the major functions because all the circuits are integrated into it.
Top chipset making companies of the world are :
1. Texas Instruments
2. Qualcomm (The snapdragon chipsets)
3. Samsung
4. Nvidia
5.Apple
A Chipset is made up of mainly 2 parts in a smartphone
1. CPU (central processing unit)
2. GPU (Graphic processing unit)
Now let us talk about these both individually
1. CPU
A CPU basically relates to the speed-related part of the processor which does all the calculations.
Most common processors or Technically , the CPU's of the world are ARM processors. ARM is one of the most popular core designs of CPU. Just like
Intel and AMD , the ARM processor is a 32 bit microprocessor made by
Acorn computers in 1987.
ARM is basically a company that provides
the architecture or framework for mobile processors , And the various
companies use this framework as the basis for developing better Chipsets by integrating the ARM processor along with a GPU.
Popular core designs from ARM include ARMv7 , ARM9 , ARM11 , CORTEX-A8 , CORTEX-A9 AND THE MOST RECENT CORTEX-A15.
In the earlier days a CPU generally had a single core , but nowadays you can't do a shit in a single core processor , nowadays you can't even find a single smartphone with a single core CPU.
Now you might be wandering that what these cores are
Let me give you an example
Consider your mom and you went to a supermarket or a mart
(a) She gave you a huge list of stuff and told you to collect all the stuff in the list from the mart.
You would start collecting all the stuff.
OR
(b) As soon as you and your mom entered the mart or the supermarket you met a friend of yours and then your mom gave you the list to collect the stuff , Now in this case the no, of people to collect the stuff your mom wants is 2 (you and your friend)
Conclusion : The work done in the second case is way too faster and would require less efforts individually.
Now if you frame the whole case for the CPU cores , the first case would be the case of single core CPU processor and the second one would be for the dual core CPU processor , Thus the work done and the calculations would be way too smooth in a dual core processor.
No. of cores make it easier to deal the information and commands.
GHz CHARACTERISTIC OF A CPU
Whenever we see the specifications of a smartphone CPU. We see something as 1.2 GHz processor or something like 2.2 GHz processor
A GHz refers to number of millions calculations done by the CPU per cycle. Each cycle is done on the basis of instructions called IPC (Instructions per cycle)
In order to relate between GHz and IPC let me give you an example
Here as you can easily understand Speed refers to the GHz and the stride length refers to the instructions per cycle (IPC)
32 AND 64-BIT ARCHITECTURE
32 and 64-bit architecture is another aspect of speed and processing of CPU.
A 32-bit architecture generally utilizes data of size 32 bits at a time whereas a 64-bit architecture utilizes 64 bits of data at a time for computing. Since more data at a time can be processed , 64-bit a far more better , faster and advanced than the 32 type
2.) GPU ( Graphic processing unit )
The another most important part of a smartphone Chipset is a GPU. In the earlier phone there was a negligible requirement of a GPU , but nowadays a phone with a GPU is a must , even to work smoothly with the latest android versions a GPU is a must.
In the present scenario a GPU is basically required for media , the user interface of the phone , the transition effects , and most important , Gaming.
